PSAT 11/PSAT 10 Information

As a district, we offer junior students the opportunity to take the PSAT 11 in the fall and sophomore students the opportunity to take the PSAT 10 in the spring. Please refer to the school calendar for these dates as they will vary from year to year.

The Director of Counseling manages all PSAT 11 and PSAT 10 registrations through the College Board’s Registration and Ordering System.

Communications: The School Counseling Office will share information as follows:

  • Fall: Emails sent to all junior students and their families (PSAT 11)
  • Winter: Emails sent to all sophomore students and their families (PSAT 10)
  • On grade-level Google Classroom pages
  • Through high school announcements

If you have questions or are considering taking one of these exams, please contact your assigned School Counselor or the Director of Counseling as soon as possible.

Deadlines and Costs:

  • Registration Deadline: Refer to the communications for these deadline dates, as they vary year to year.
  • Late registrations will not be accepted.
  • Cost: Approximately $20 per exam
  • Fee Waivers: Available for students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Testing Accommodations:

Requests for testing accommodations are processed through the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) system.

If your child has an IEP or 504 Plan and currently receives testing accommodations, please confirm with your child’s school counselor that a request has been submitted to and approved by the College Board.

To receive accommodations on College Board exams (PSAT, SAT, and AP), the school must submit a request directly to the College Board. This requires your permission through a signed consent form allowing us to share relevant documentation for review (consent form).

Once submitted:

  • The College Board will review the request
  • A determination will be made
  • Notification will be sent by email to families and the school
  • Processing typically takes 6–7 weeks
  • Approval of accommodations is not guaranteed
  • All information will remain confidential and will not be shared with any institution other than Hastings High School

**Please note that we are not a testing center. Students interested in taking the SAT and/or ACT must register independently at an alternate testing location.**
